As of Sunday lockdown from 5 PM to 5 AM

26 November 2021

Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Hugo de Jonge announced tonight at a press conference that, as of next Sunday, there will be a lockdown from 5 PM to 5 AM. Most sectors in society are during these hours shut down, such as catering venues, culture, cinemas, non-essential shops, hairdressers and also amateur sports.

The measure will be in effect for at least three weeks. The 'evening lockdown' should quickly bring down the dramatic peak in corona infections.

Guests can only enter a catering venue during opening hours with a corona-entry-pass. Every guest must be given a seat. A new feature is that the 1.5 meter distance rule must be taken into account within the catering venue. Mouth caps are obligatory. Take-away and delivery remains allowed.

Schools and essential shops (supermarkets, liquor shops, pharmacies, drugstores) can remain open. In shops 1 visitor per 5 m2 is allowed. Mouth caps are obligatory.
