A ban on alcohol sales at Schiphol?

4 April 2017

Dutch pilots and cabin crew unions are calling for a ban on the sale of alcohol at Schiphol airport and a blacklist of passengers who misbehave.

The unions were reacting to new figures which show there were 985 reports of ‘unruly passengers’ last year. The notifications are mostly of Dutch companies and often related to alcohol. There were incidents involving drunk young people urinating in the cabin and having sex on board the plane.

The unions want Schiphol to do more to prevent alcohol abuse at the airport.
